Friends From College (season 1) - A nostalgic tragic-comedy that everyone should watch
I was scrolling through the netflix main page and it recommended me this series, Friends From College. I was like why? is it becasuse I watched friends? I clicked on it and watched the trailer. It was pretty good, but lord, no one told me it was going to be tHAT awesome. Before I start to freack out, here's everything you need to know.
Basic Info:Episodes (first season): 8 episodes, 30-ish minutes each
Creators: Francesca Delbanco and Nicholas Stoller
Production: Netflix
Cast: Keegan Michael-Key; Fred Savage; Nat Faxon; Annie Parisse; Jaeh Suh Park and the iconic Cobie Smulders

Storyline:
A group of friends from Harvard are facing down their forties. With interwoven and oftentimes complicated relationships with one another. "Friends from College" is a comedic exploration of old friendships, former romantic entanglements and balancing adult life with nostalgia for the past.
Personal Opinion:
I'm a sucker for these types of tv shows. Pure drama, filled of problems, filled of affairs, people picking fights on each other. I just love it. And this one, oh lord, it has it all.
The story starts off with Ethan and Lisa moving to new york so they can be with their old college friends. At first, everything it's a little confusing, but you'll understand everything 20 minutes in.
I think for me the story in the first episodes it's really simple, more like a cliché, but at the end of it all you realize it all has a really cool meaning, live life whenever you want, however you want, and with whoever you want.
I really feel the need to talk about the best thing of the series, the cast. That perfectly selected cast. It's just awesome, it's incredible. All completely good actors, they all fit perfectly for their roles. Like, I don't see Fred Savage in any other rol than that overly gay man Max, or Jaeh Suh Park as the ICONIC LEGEND called Marianne. But we HAVE to admit this. They only casted Keegan Michael-Key and Cobie Smulders for publicity. Like, I'm not complaining, they're awesome, but all the other actors are completely no ones, and it really stands out when you're watching it. Whatever, the cast is incredible, and i would even say it's worth it watvhing it ONLY for the cast. Screw the story.
Other thing that really stood out for me was the plot twists as you're watching it. Like, i would've never guessed what happened with Max, or some other affair that i will not talk about right now. I don't even want to think how the writers came up with all of this. It's amazing.
One sad and tedious part about it all it's the waiting time between each season. Good. Lord. One and a half year for EIGHT EPISODES. 30. MINUTES. EACH. The production it's really, really good, and it seemed like they put a lot of effort on the storyline itself, but geez. They shot Bandersnatch which had 5 hours of footage on 32 days, and they couldn't have 8 episodes in a year? I dont know y'all. You better watch those two seasons now and be happy with that, because netflix didn't say a wORD about renewing it.
Wrapping it up, the series it's really good. I don't know why it got a lot of negative reviews, I just don't get it. It talks about life itslef, and nothing more. And how a little thing can change it all. What I would say it's that really it reminds me of Friends, it has nothing to do with it, but it gives the same vibes you know.
Lisa Kudrow said a while ago, "a show with all forty-year-olds complaining about their 20s problems it's just sad." But let me tell you, Lisa Kudrow, it's not sad at all, it's awesome see how everyone can have the same problems, whether your forty or 20, you live in a small town or in the middle of dowtown new york, if you're a lwyer or a writer.
Anyways, i truly recommed it to everyone. It's a must-watch for me.
